Distance to empty [1]

After '0 km' has been displayed, the vehicle can drive an additional 3~8 km (2~5 miles) depending on different factors.

Low battery [1]

A: Low battery
When the high voltage battery level reaches around 15% or less, this warning message is displayed.

Charge immediately. Power limited [1]

A: Charge immediately. Power limited.
When the high voltage battery level reaches around 5% or less, this warning message is displayed.

EV mode screen [1]

If you select the EV menu at the multimedia system home screen, you can enter EV menu.

Charging

How to connect AC charger [1]

1. Depress the brake pedal and apply the parking brake.
2. Turn OFF all switches, shift to P (Park), and turn OFF the vehicle. If charging is initiated without the gear in P (Park), the charging will start after the gear is automatically shifted to P (Park).
   
3. Open the charging door.
4. Check if there is dust on the charging connector and charging inlet.
5. Hold the charging connector handle and connect it to the vehicle charging inlet. Push the connector all the way in. If the charging connector and charging terminal are not connected properly, this may cause a fire.
   
6. Connect the charging plug to the electric outlet at a AC charging station to start charging.
7. Check if the charging indicator light ( ) of the high voltage battery in the instrument cluster is turned ON. Charging is not active when the charging indicator light ( ) is OFF. When the charging connector and charging plug are not connected properly, reconnect the charging cable to charge.
   
8. After charging has started, the estimated charging time is displayed on the instrument cluster for about 1 minute. If you open the driver seat door while charging, the estimated charging time is also displayed on the instrument cluster for about 1 minute. When scheduled charging or scheduled air conditioner/ heater is set, the estimated charging time is displayed as "--".

Note: Depending on the condition and durability of the high voltage battery, charger specifications, and ambient temperature, the time required for charging the high voltage battery may vary.

Starting the Vehicle / Door Locks / Tailgate / Bonnet

Starting the vehicle [6]

• If the battery is weak or the smart key does not work correctly, you can start the vehicle by pressing the EV button with the smart key. When you press the EV button directly with the smart key, the smart key should contact the button at a right angle.
  
• When the stop lamp fuse is blown, you cannot start the vehicle normally. Replace the fuse with a new one. If it is not possible, you can start the vehicle by pressing the EV button for 10 seconds while it is in the ACC position. The vehicle can start without pressing the brake pedal. But for your safety always press the brake pedal before starting the vehicle.

1. Turn to the lock position.

Opening the front storage compartment [5]

• Open the bonnet.
• Lift up the front storage compartment cover while depressing the front storage compartment lever (1).

Opening/closing the tailgate [5]

• Press the outside handle switch to open the tailgate.
• Pull up the tailgate
• Push down the tailgate to close it.

Opening/closing the bonnet [5]

Emergency tailgate safety release [5]

1. Slide the latch in the direction of the arrow to unlock the tailgate.
   

Closing the bonnet

• Before closing the bonnet, check if all filler caps are correctly installed and any other combustible material must be removed from the motor compartment.
• Lower the bonnet until it is about 30 cm above the closed position and let it drop to securely lock in place.

Pan-European eCall System / Towing

Accident reporting [7]

3. Emergency services

The Pan-European eCall device automatically makes an emergency call to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) for proper rescuing operations in event of car accident. For proper emergency services and support the Pan-European eCall system automatically transmits the accident data to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) when a traffic accident is detected. In this case, the emergency call cannot be hung up by pressing the SOS button and the Pan-European eCall system remains connected until the emergency service officer, receiving the call, disconnects the emergency call. In minor traffic accidents the Pan- European eCall system may not execute an emergency call. However, an emergency call may be made manually by pressing the SOS button.

Towing [7]

• Tow the vehicle with a flatbed equipment with all wheels off the ground.
• Do not tow with sling-type equipment. Use wheel lift or flatbed equipment. a dollies

Emergency towing [7]

If emergency towing is necessary, we recommend having it done by an authorized Kia dealer or a commercial towtruck service.

Operation

• Remove the hole cover by pressing the lower part of the cover on the bumper.
• Install the towing hook by screwing it clockwise into the hole until it is fully secured.
• After use, remove the towing hook and reinstall the cover.

Lighting Control / Wipers and Washers / Regenerative Braking System

Lighting control [5]

To operate the lights, turn the knob at the end of the control lever to one of the following positions:

1. OFF (O)
2. AUTO
3. Position & Taillamp ( )
4. Low beam ( )

High beam assist* [5]

High beam assist is a function that automatically adjusts the headlamp range (switches between high beam and low beam) depending on the brightness of detected vehicles and certain road conditions.

Controlling the wipers [5]

1. Front wiper speed control

Adjusting regenerative braking with paddle shifter [6]

Operation

• Pull the left side ( ) of the paddle shifter to increase regenerative braking and deceleration.
• Pull the right side ( ) of the paddle shifter to decrease regenerative braking and deceleration.

The selected regenerative braking level is displayed on the instrument cluster. The Initial setting of the regenerative braking level and adjustable range vary according to the selected drive mode.

Tyre Mobility Kit / Washer Fluid / Coolant / Additional Info

Tyre Mobility Kit [7]

The Tyre Mobility Kit is not designed or intended as a permanent tyre repair method and is to be used for one tyre only.
Please read the instructions before using the Tyre Mobility Kit.

With the Tyre Mobility Kit you stay mobile even after experiencing a tyre puncture.
After ensuring that the tyre is properly sealed, you can drive cautiously on the tyre (for a distance of up to 200 km (120 miles)) at maximum speed of 80 km/h (50 mph) in order to reach a service station or a tyre dealer to have the tyre replaced.

Checking the washer fluid level [8]

Check the fluid level and add fluid if necessary.

Checking the coolant level [8]

The coolant level should be filled between the MAX or F and the MIN or L marks on the side of the coolant reservoir when the parts in the motor compartment is cool.

If the coolant is low, we recommend to visit an authorized Kia dealer/service partner.

• Do not remove or disassemble high voltage components and high voltage battery connectors and/or wiring (orange cabling). Also, be careful not to damage high voltage components and the high voltage battery. It may cause serious injury and significantly impact the performance and durability of the vehicle
• When inspection and maintenance is required for high voltage components and the high voltage battery, have the vehicle inspected by an authorised Kia dealer/service partner.

Additional Info

Parking brake (handbrake)
When engaging the parking brake, apply the footbrake first and keep it depressed. Then apply the parking brake.
We strongly recommend to always engage the ´P´ (Park) position when leaving the car.
