BYK-Gardner GmbH 1.6 Intended Use The micro-wave-scan 3 (7420) is designed to measure orange peel on high-gloss surfaces. It is optimized for small and curved parts. The minimum sample size is 25 mm x 40 mm. By placing the base plate of the unit onto the surface, pressing the Operate button on the front and moving the instrument over the surface, it measures the properties of the surface and processes, stores and displays the measured data.

The instrument is controlled by the Operate button and the touch-screen display on the front side. The Operate button is used to switch on the instrument and to trigger a mea- surement.
