    It features high input power, high output power, and medium optical gain and is designed to amplify aggregated optical input power for reach extension. The FRM220-OAB21 provides Automatic Gain Control (AGC) via rack management or RS-232 console interface.

    Power consumption 14W (Max.) Management Features When FRM220-OAB21 is placed in a stand-alone chassis with serial management port, this device also supports a text-based serial terminal with an easy-to-use menu system for configuration. When placed in a managed chassis, the card is configured and monitored through the chassis NMC (network management controller) via console, Telnet, Web HTTP or SNMP.

    Connect the serial cable to the CH02M's DB9. Run the terminal emulation program. With power on, press [ESC] or [Enter] to display the "Main Menu" screen.     The upper side of the console screen displays transceiver status. The bottom side of the console screen provides options to enable or disable the device and set up self-defined parameters for the transceivers. See below for detailed explanations of the provided options: Operation Select any of the menu items by keying in the menu item number or letter.

    Upgrade Firmware Stand-alone Firmware Upgrading via Xmodem The FRM220-OAB21 card may be firmware upgraded using XMODEM when placed in the chassis such as CH02M. The user may use serial terminal such as a notebook computer that has an RS232 port or via a commonly available USB to RS232 adapter.

    Firmware Upgrading via NMC Card The FRM220-OAB21 card may be firmware upgraded when it is placed in the FRM220 with NMC management card. The user may use a local console connection to the NMC, a remote Telnet (IP) connection, or a Web based (HTTP) connection with any available browser.
