Follow the steps in the Start Here booklet to set up the
HP Digital Entertainment Center.
Most of the hardware devices such as the monitor and
printer can be connected at the back panel of the
HP Digital Entertainment Center.

The basic steps to set up the HP Digital Entertainment
Center are in the Start Here booklet as follows. Your
system may be different. See the referenced sections for
detailed information on each step.
Before you begin:
Read "Safety Information" on page 17.

Required steps

Unpack the box contents.
a Take inventory. See "Inventory" on page 29.
Identify the items included with your HP Digital
Entertainment Center.
b Identify equipment you will need that is not
supplied.
c Place the HP Digital Entertainment Center where
you can easily reach the back panel.

Determine how you will connect the HP Digital
Entertainment Center to your system.

Basic Setup

Some peripheral devices, such as a digital video camera,
can be plugged into the connectors on the back panel or
the front panel (behind lower doors) of the HP Digital
Entertainment Center.
Read the important safety information before
you install the HP Digital Entertainment
Center. See "Safety Information" on page 17.
