    Introduction The intention of this document is to provide information for the correct installation of the Stannah Midilift SL, highlighting key points and safety procedures and to ensure that the final product runs safely, smoothly and efficiently. This manual should be read in conjunction with the electrical wiring manual, the specific General Arrangement Drawing and the Builder's Work Drawing.

    Midilift SL Installation Guide SITE REQUIREMENTS & TOOLS Site Arrival On arrival at the site, the installer should make his presence known to the customer. The installer must comply with any site safety procedures and regulations that are in force.

Enlarge hole with step drill and de-burr. This is to allow cables to pass from the corner upright into the door frame freely (see below).

    Midilift SL Installation Guide Pit prop Place pit prop on the double prongs situated next to the left hand guide, push pit prop back against guides and fit latch. Ensure that once the latch is released the prop ‘falls’ into the engaged poison.

    Midilift SL Installation Guide Kicker Roller Shims The kicker rollers should be adjusted using shims so the carriage runs centrally within the guides. This adjustment should initially be carried out as soon as the weight of the carriage is taken by the ram. However final adjustment of the shims must also be carried out following completion of the installation, when the platform is fitted and the guides have been installed in their entirety.

Up Bypass: When the pump is started, the unloaded platform should remain stationary at the floor for a period of about 1 second before starting upwards. The length of this delay is according to the setting of adjustment 1 'In' (clockwise) shortens the delay, 'out' (c-clockwise) lengthens the delay.

    Midilift SL Installation Guide 0.15m/s Control Valve - IGV • To remove the lid, use the triangular key to unlock and pull the lid handle forward towards you, not up, for about 50mm. The lid can then be removed. • The oil tank holds about 30 Litres of oil and is to be filled with HVI 32 Hydraulic oil. A dipstick is provided on the filler cap.

    Rupture valve adjustment Checking and adjustment of the Rupture Valve Remove the ram from the lift and lay it on the floor. (See Midilift SL maintenance manual for removal of ram procedure). Remove the rupture valve from inside the ram. This can be done by inserting pins in the holes and turning.

Lift the platform frame into the lift structure and rest on floor. Lower the carriage to meet the platform frame. Remove the carriage transit strap (angle bolted to the front of the carriage).

    Midilift SL Installation Guide Before fitting the fire door, the intumescent strips, handle, contacts and the door lock plate need to be fitted. A slam plate will also need to be screwed to the slam side edge of the door, but it is best to fit this once the door has been fitted to the frame.
