AMAS−A Small-sized Acceleration Transducer
Thank you for purchasing the KYOWA product. Before using it, read
this instruction manual carefully. Also, keep the manual within easy
reach so that you can refer to whenever necessary.
1. Calling the operator's attention
Be sure to observe the accompanying precautions in order to
safeguard the operator and preserve the performance of the
instrument.

2. Safety precautions
Be sure to mount the product properly.
If the product loosens while using it, the product may be
detached or damaged, and operators may be damaged.
3. Installation
3.1 Sensitive axis
When installing the transducer, make sure of the model and,
referring to Fig.1 below, install it to provide a proper sensing
direction.
3.2 How to install
3.2.1 Mounting with adhesive
(1) Clean the mounting area.
(2) Also clean the mounting surface of the transducer.
(3) Fix with adhesive (cyanoacrylate instantaneous adhesive etc.).
3.2.2
Mounting with bolt
(1) To install, use M1.6 screw (recommended tensile strength
ranking [12.9], longer than 12 mm). Drill holes in the measuring
object. The holes' effective screw depth should be longer than
the mounting screws, L1 ≦ L2. The distance between the holes
should be 7±0.1 mm. (Fig.2)
(2) Clean the mounting area.
(3) Also clean the mounting surface of the transducer.

(4) Apply the silicone grease lightly between the transducer and
measuring object. The tightening torque is 0.1 to 0.12 N ・ m
(Recommend tightening torque: 0.12 N ・ m).
Caution
Do not disassemble the transducer.
This product is extra sensitive to impact. Do not drop, hit, or apply
any impact to the product. Avoid impact in excess of its safe
overload rating 39,227m/s

damaged. Take great care to handle it properly.
After the transducer fixation, avoid plucking the cable, swinging
around having a cable, if not, the transducer may be
disconnection. Take great care to handle it properly.
Install the product carefully. Or, the frequency response
characteristics may be changed. Make sure the product is installed
onto the object to be measured perfectly.
When installing, carefully avoid external force such as bending or
twisting on the product
When fixing the transducer with adhesive, apply adhesive to the
mounting surface shown by Fig.1. If not, sufficient fixing power
can't be obtained.
If the transducer is fixed with a screw and give impact exceed to

(1,500G), its may be loose the screw. If there is impact

, damage to the transducer and surrounding

items, and hurts to the human body may fear. Be sure to fix with
adhesive.
If the transducer is installed using an adhesive, excessive force
applied to remove it may deform the transducer's cabinet or cause
failure of the transducer. If the transducer is to be used repeatedly,
be sure to install it using screws. (Except when there is a
possibility of impact exceeding 14,710m/s
The grounding is an effective measure against noise and failure of
the transducer caused by electric charge. (Fig.3)
Measuring object (conductor)
The transducer's connector area and relay area is not waterproof.
Take care to avoid water and highly humid (over 85%)
environment.
