Adaptive Faxing
By learning how many concurrent faxes a number can handle, the FaxPress server can
reduce the amount of failed calls due to busy signals.
The FaxPress server records the number of successful simultaneous calls to a particular
number. The FaxPress server will then limit the number of simultaneous calls to the
maximum number of simultaneous calls for that particular number.
The floor of the maximum simultaneous calls is one. The phone number log stored in the
FaxPress server's memory is checked for unused entries every 3 hours by default, which
can be changed by editing the Hours To Keep setting in the AdaptiveBusyCalling.cfg
file. The Adaptive Faxing feature is on by default. Its behavior can be changed by editing
the AdaptiveBusyCalling.cfg configuration file located in C:\Castelle\System\Cfg.
Note: Use a standard text editor, such as Notepad or WritePad, to edit the
configuration file.
The default contents of the AdaptiveBusyCalling.cfg file:
[Adaptive] Enabled = 1 Hours To Keep = 3
To turn off the Adaptive Faxing feature, set Enabled to '0'. This is the static configuration
that allows only one simultaneous call to each destination number.
Enabled = 0
When enabled, the FaxPress server keeps track of how many times a number is called and
how many calls it requires before it receives a busy signal. This number is logged in the
FaxPress server's memory for as long as specified in the Hours To Keep setting.
