DISC MENU
The default setting is "English".
1 Select "Disc Languages" by using i/k in the setup menu.
Then press ENTER.
2 Use i/k to move the cursor to "Disc Menu".

4 Use i/k to move the cursor to the desired language and

English: Show the Disc menu in English.
Japanese: Show the Disc menu in Japanese.
Others: Language code setting screen appears. The
procedure for setting the language code is the
same as for "Audio Language" setting. Refer to
the steps 5 and 6 of "Audio Language" setting.
5 Press vRETURN to return to the previous screen, or press
SET UP to exit the setup menu.
If your preferred language does not exist on the disc, the disc's
default language will be used.

AUDIO OUTPUT SETTING

"Audio Output Setting" adjusts the type of signal output from the
DIGITAL AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) jack and the LINE OUT jacks.
Changing the default "Digital Stream" and "dts Output" settings in
"Audio Output Setting" may be needed only if you are connecting
an external decoder or amplifier .
If so, set up according to the type of connected equipment.
If not, do not change their default settings.
DIGITAL STREAM
"Digital Stream" sets the type of digital output from the DIGITAL
AUDIO OUT (OPTICAL) jack of this unit.
The default setting is "Down Mix PCM".
1 Select "Audio Output Setting" by using i/k in the setup
menu. Then press ENTER.
2 Use i/k to move the cursor to "Digital Stream".

Down Mix PCM
Select this option if the unit is connected via a fiber optical
cable to a digital amplifier without a built-in Dolby Digital decoder
or an MD recorder.
DOLBY DIGITAL
Select this option if the unit is connected to a Dolby Digital
decoder, or to an amplifier with a built-in Dolby Digital decoder,
with a digital fiber optical cable.
5 Press ENTER.
Your entry is saved.
6 Press vRETURN to return to the previous screen, or press
SET UP to exit the setup menu.
CAUTION
If the AV amplifier is not equipped with a Dolby Digital
decoder, do not select "DOLBY DIGITAL" in the "Audio
Output Setting" when connecting the AV amplifier with
an optical connecting cord.
Merely attempting to play a DVD may cause a high level of
noise which could be harmful to your ears and damage the
speakers. In such a case, be sure to select "Down Mix PCM".
