RATINGS

"Ratings" sets the rating limit allowed to playback on this unit when
playing discs with restriction level encoding.
SETTING THE RATING
The default setting is "Level 8".
1 Select "Ratings" by using i/k in the setup menu. Then
press ENTER.
2 Use i/k to move the cursor to the level you would like to
set.
The smaller the number, the higher the level of restriction.
For instance, setting the rating level to 1 will restrict play of all
discs with a rating level from 2 to 8, either by cutting certain
scenes or disabling play altogether, depending on the disc.
Check your disc for details.

The country code needs to be set correctly, since the rating
system differs with the country.
When "Other Country" is selected in the country code, the
display changes to accept 4-digit numbers. Input a 4-digit
country code shown on page 48 in the same way as the input
of the language code (page 42).
NOTE
The country code is different from the language code stated
before.
Example: country code for "United States" is "8583".
5 Press ENTER.
A password entry screen is displayed.

6 Use the numbered buttons and j/l to enter a four-digit
password.
7 Press ENTER.

Do not forget the password you set!
If you forget your password
Reset the setup menu settings. (See "TO RESET THE SETUP
MENU", page 52.) Then set all the settings again including the
"Ratings" setting.
8 After confirming the password, press ENTER again.
Your entry is saved.
9 Press SET UP to exit the setup menu.
CHANGING THE SETTINGS
1 Select "Ratings" by using i/k in the setup menu. Then
press ENTER.
2 Input four-digit password and press ENTER.
3 Select an item.

Unlock Player:
Resets "Ratings" to "Level 8" (no restriction). Go to step 7.

Changes the country code setting. Perform steps 4, 5 and 8.
4 Press ENTER.
5 Change the contents you want to set, and press ENTER.
6 Press ENTER.
