Always read and apply the safety and operating procedures before working with this equipment. Prior to using this product, carefully read, understand, and observe all instructions in this manual.

    Service safety • Always take precautions to ensure the safety of service personnel. Whenever possible, perform maintenance indoors, out of the weather, and away from traffic. • Never perform even routine service unless all electrical components are shut down: • Ensure all light tower power circuits are shut off.
  • Page 7: Rear Frame

    Assembly Drawbar Before using your QLTS for the first time, install the drawbar. Before shipment from the factory, the drawbar may be removed to make the trailer more compact. To assemble the drawbar, refer to Figure 3-1 Installing the drawbar and follow these instructions: Ensure the front leveling jacks are down and locked, and firmly seated on the ground.
  • Page 8 Using a 9/16-inch wrench, remove and set aside the four sets of bolts, nuts, and washers that hold the rear frame in place. 2. Pull the rear frame away from the trailer as indicated, 24 inches (61cm), until the second set of holes in the rear frame align with the holes in the trailer frame.

    Operation Overview A typical deployment of the QLTS includes the following steps: Towing the trailer to its destination (Towing) 2.     • Adhere to applicable transportation department regulations when towing the trailer. 4.3.3 After towing • After towing, use the drawbar-mounted jack to raise the drawbar and release the tow hitch from the tow vehicle, then pull the vehicle away from the light tower trailer.

    Under optimal conditions, the batteries will remain charged and the light tower can be used every night without having to use an external charger. The solar charging system’s capacity to keep the batteries fully charged is dependent on the power draw of the light tower’s lights and the solar panels’ exposure to the sun.
