How do you give a computer a fixed IP-address
This is only necessary for computers you want to open a port for using the Forwarding or DMZ function. Follow the
steps in the chapter "Configuration computer to connect to the router". Instead of selecting "Obtain an IP address
automatically" select Use the following IP address".
In our example the IP-address begins with (192.168.203.xxx). As last number enter a number that is unique
in your network. We advice you to choose a number between 150 and 200. So a possible IP-address could be
(192.168.203.150). The following computer has (192.168.203.151) etc.
As "Subnetmask" enter: 255.255.255.0
At both "Default gateway" and "Preferred DNS-server" you enter the IP-address you use to login to the router. In our
example: 192.168.203.1
At "Alternative-DNS-server" you do not have to enter anything.
Click "OK" twice to save the settings and close the window.
