Before you install this kit —
instructions, warnings, cautions, and notes contained in
this installation instruction guide. Consult your vehicle
owner's manual for proper disconnection of electrical and
lifting of vehicle if required for installation of this product.
This install may require some technical skills and
knowledge of basic mechanical work. If you do not feel that
you are capable of performing this install please take this
product to a trained professional.

Time to install this should only
take about an three and a half
hours.
Proper installation of this kit required knowledge of the factory
recommended procedures for removal and installation of original
equipment components. We recommend that the factory shop manual
and any special tools needed to service your vehicle be on hand during
the installation. Installation of this kit without proper knowledge of the
factory recommended procedures may affect the performance of these
components and the safety of the vehicle
• Always wear eye protection when operating power tools

  • Page 3 INSTALLATION MANUAL STEP 3 | Disconnect the wiring from frame releasing a trim clip tool so that the wiring is free. STEP 4 | Remove the license plate to expose the two 15mm bolts. Using a 15mm socket, remove the bolts. Using a trim tool, remove the two push pins.
  • Page 4 INSTALLATION MANUAL STEP 5 | Using a 16mm socket or wrench, remove the (4) nuts (2 per side) to release the bumper. Please Note: Once nuts are removed, bumper will be loose. Use caution to prevent injury or damage to truck/bumper. STEP 6 | Once bumper is removed, place on soft surface to prevent damage.
  • Page 5 INSTALLATION MANUAL STEP 7 | Once the wire harness if free from the bumper, disconnect the two license plate lights by depressing the tab on the plug and pulling away from the light. STEP 8 | Next, remove the sensors (if equipped).
  • Page 6 INSTALLATION MANUAL STEP 9 | Remove the trailer plug. Using a flat head or trim clip tool, press in both sides of the metal retaining clip and push the plug out towards the front of the bumper. 855-680-9595 NEED HELP?
  • Page 7 INSTALLATION MANUAL STEP 10 | Using a 10mm socket or wrench, remove both license plate lights from the bumper. STEP 11 | Begin by feeding the wiring harness through the cavities of the bumper until sensors and light plugs align with their new holes. Do not run wiring over the mounting holes (green arrow).
  • Page 8 INSTALLATION MANUAL STEP 12 | Install the factory license plate lights by feeding them through the face of the bumper. Using the factory bolt and a 10mm socket/wrench, secure light. Plug light into harness. STEP 13 | Continue feeding the harness into place. If truck is equipped with sensors, remove the factory bezels (some trim models).
  • Page 9 INSTALLATION MANUAL STEP 14 | Install trailer wiring plug from the front side of the bumper until it snaps into place. Connect to harness. If harness has a small flat sensor (key remote sensor) located on the center of the factory bumper, using the provided 3M tape, apply it on the flat area on the backside of the license plate mount.
  • Page 10 INSTALLATION MANUAL STEP 15 | Secure wiring to bumper using the built-in zip tie tabs. STEP 16 | Take the M12 flat nuts, and slide them in place over the bumper mounting holes. STEP 17 | If the vehicle is equipped with dual exit exhaust, remove the two lower panels using a 10mm and #4 Allen bit.
  • Page 11 INSTALLATION MANUAL STEP 18 | If running pod lights, install them now. We are using (2) 3” DV8 Elite pod lights. STEP 19 | With assistance to prevent injury or damage to the vehicle, lift the bumper to the truck and using the provided M12 hardware (bolt, flat washer and spring washer), loosely secure the bumper to the vehicle.
  • Page 12 INSTALLATION MANUAL STEP 20 | Adjust the bumper side to side and up and down. Once in the desired location, using a 18mm socket, secure hardware. STEP 21 | Slowly open tailgate to ensure it clears the bumper and does not make contact.
  • Page 13 INSTALLATION MANUAL STEP 23 | Double check all hardware is secure and all plugs are properly connected. Congratulations, you are done with your install of the DV8 Ram 1500 Spec Series Rear Bumper! 855-680-9595 NEED HELP?
