    MAX RACK  ™ LOADING INSTRUCTIONS Rung locator sticker. Load ladder on front hook (Sticker can be applied for easy reference). Lift the ladder from the rear and push the ladder forward. Place the rear of the ladder between the rear hook and anti-theft.
  • Page 3 Release positive lock before operating the rack. With both hands, insert the handle into the Max Rack and turn to secure. Pull the handle down towards you. Turn around. Push the handle forward. Continue to push the handle until the Max Rack has finished its descent.
  • Page 4 PADLOCK SETUP The Max Rack comes with anti-theft measures in mind. On top of removing the handle from the Max Rack after use, there is also an option to insert a padlock in one of the marked holes below. Secure the Max Rack, with the handle in the up/closed position, using a lock of choice.

  • Page 6 MAX RACK HOOK ADJUSTMENT & SECURING LADDER Ensure the ladder is secured by the front and rear hooks to avoid excessive movement (no more than 1/4” play). Adjustments may be required depending on the ladder type and size. Follow the steps below to appropriately setup the Max Rack.
  • Page 7 MAX RACK WARNING Failing to comply with the hook adjustment settings can result in unrestrained ladder as shown below. In these conditions the ladder can dislodge from the vehicle, causing serious injuries to road user and can be life threatening.

    TIGHT AND DO NOT RATTLE. Disclaimer: Carrying ladders on your roof can be dangerous. While minimizing the risks is Ranger Design’s top priority, ladder rack safety is ultimately the user’s responsibility. Regular maintenance can also help prevent accidents and extend the life of your rack and ladders.
  • Page 9 MAX RACK MAINTENANCE SCHEDULE MONTHLY INSPECT BOLTS AND NUTS ON THE SHAFT AND FRAME. TIGHTEN IF LOOSE. INSPECT CYLINDERS, FOUND ON THE FRONT AND REAR MECHANISMS. Check for leaks and tighten nuts if loose. INSPECT ELBOW FOR ANY CRACK AND ENSURE THE SLEEVE RESTS FLUSH TO THE PIPE KEEPING THE PIN KEY IN PLACE.
