3.3 Swimming Pool Heat Pumps Plumbing

The domestic size units come standard with pipe unions for 50 mm PVC pipe. All piping on these units can be done with 50mm PVC pipe. The ball valves and
non-return valve used must be full bore 50mm valves. The bypass valve must be set according to the flow rate on the nameplate of the unit. The heat pump's
inlet must be connected downstream of the filter and pool pump, and upstream from any chlorinate, Ozonators or chemical pumps.
Condensation: Since the Heat pump cools down the air about 4 - 5℃, water will condense on the fins of the evaporator. If the relative humidity is very high, this
could be as much as several liters an hour. The water will run down the fins into the base pan.
please connect the unit's drain hole to drain hose (30mm) by using the Drain Connection which is included and
to mistake the condensation for a water leak inside the unit.
NB: A quick way to verify that the water is condensation is to shut off the unit and keep the pool pump running. If the water stops running out of the base pan,
it is condensation.

3.4 Swimming Pool Heat Pumps Electrical Wiring

NOTE: Although the unit heat exchanger is electrically isolated from the rest of the unit, it simply prevents the flow of electricity to or from the pool water.
Grounding the unit is still required to protect you against short circuits inside the unit.
The unit has side cover panel with the electrical connection terminals inside. Just remove the screw and the cover panel and connect the electric supply wires
to the power terminals inside.
Electrical regulations require that an electrical isolating switch must be located within reach of the unit.
It is very important that the correct size electrical cable and circuit breaker is used (see table in the back of this manual). Failing to do so can result in a cable fire
hazard and also unit failure. (Refer to page31)
