"IMPORTANT:
All products of the Philips 900 series which are equipped
with an own remote control, also have an IR SENSOR
ON/OFF switch on the back of the product.
When these products are incorporated In your HiFi system
with ESI BUS connection, this IR SENSOR ON/OFF switch
should always be in the OFF position.
The product can then be operatea with the remote control
of yourDSU 950,
VWhen these products are. not used | ina 900 series HIF
system the switch should be in the ON position.
Make sure that the respective product is switched off
when switching the IR SENSOR on and off.

REMOTE CONTROL FROM ANOTHER ROOM

You can control your system from another room, by pointing
the remote control at one of the connected digital speakers.
The speaker will pass signals from the remote control handset
to your Digital System Controller.
OPERATING SPEAKER SYSTEMS
e Since all DSS930 speakers have their own infra red remote
control sensor, you can control speaker system A, B and C
from any room by pointing the remote control to a speaker
and pressing the respective keys.
e The commands VOLUME,
BALANCE,
BASS, TREBLE,
COMPENSATION,
MUTE act only in the room where the
remote control is used.
e.g. When the VOLUME a key is pressed in room 2, the
volume of all speakers in room 2 will be increased.
e \When the remote control is pointed to your DSC 950, these
commands are interpreted for speaker system A
For other sets in your system connected via the ESI BUS
sockets, the following functions are available on the remote
control:
Digital System Controller
SPEAKERS A/B/C - to activate or deactivate speaker
systems
Source selectors
VOLUME - adjusting the volume of speaker system A
— BALANCE - adjusting the balance of speaker system A
— BASS - adjusting the bass tones of speaker system A
— TREBLE - adjusting the high tones of speaker system A
— COMPENSATION - to switch on/off compensation for
speaker system A
— MUTE - decreasing the volume of speaker system A by 24 dB
— STANDBY - switching the complete system to standby by
oressing longer than approx. 1 second.

— Q-9 digit buttons - selecting preset Stations; entering data
when programming timer or clock and when using the direct
tuning function
PRESET/TRACK
- next & or previous =
44 - search down
— pp - Search up
STANDBY - selecting standby mode
preset station
Cassette deck (TAPE); deck B or deck Aif B is empty
PRESET/TRACK - next 2 or previous = track
PLAY - starting play
— STOP - stopping recording/play
PAUSE - interrupting recording
RECORD - starting recording (deck B only)
mp - winding the tape in the playing direction
— 4#4- winding the tape in the opposite direction
~ STANDBY - selecting standby mode
