Set the distance from the main casting to the
bottom of the pulley per specifications shown in
Fig. 16.
7. Remove motor mounting belts.
8. Remove motor.
Motor update
C5037 - replacement motors for the C5037 are
Howell manufactured motors. Some of these
units were produced with Leroy Sommers
manufactured motors. Follow the procedure
below when replacing a Leroy Sommers motor
with a Howell motor.
1. Revise the cord and terminal assembly (Fig.
17) to match the recommended one (Fig. 18)
or replace the complete assembly.
2. Install the motor using four 3/8" lock nuts and
3/8" flat washers. Snug the nuts but do not
completely tighten
3. Install the motor sheave and adjust.
a. Check to insure motor mounting nuts are
snug.
b. Install sheave - the sheave must be
installed hub down. Fig. 19 shows the
positioning in the Leroy Sommers motor.
Invert the sheave 180° on the Howell
motor.
c. Adjust sheave to proper height. See
motor removal, Fig. 16, for height
specifications.
d. Tighten set screw.
