Generate Data Modem Calling Tone
This command is used to select whether or not the modem will
send 1300 Hz calling tone when originating a Data Modem
connection.

Set V.42 Detect Phase
In V.42 modes (\N3, \N4), if this option is enabled, the modem
detects V.42, MNP, or no error-correcting protocols from the
remote modem and changes to the appropriate mode. If this
option is disabled, the modem will detect only the V.42
error-correction protocol from the remote modem.

V.42bis Compression Control
This command specifies whether the data in the LAPM frames
are compressed using the V.42bis data compression, which
can improve throughput by as much as 400%. Compression
can be negotiated to operate in only one direction, or in both
directions.

V.42bis String Length
This command specifies the maximum number of characters
that can be compressed into one V.42bis code word. The
default value of 32 optimizes throughput for most file types.
n = 6–250 (number of characters).

Enables the V.42 detect phase.
Disables V.42bis.
Enables V.42bis only when transmitting data.
Enables V.42bis only when receiving data.
Enables V.42bis for both transmitting and receiving
data.
