Using Your Modem
To use the &W command:
TYPE:
PRESS: Enter
Reload Factory Settings Command (&F)
The modem ships from the factory ready to operate with your
computer and transfer data over a normal telephone line. If you
have changed several configuration options that no longer apply
to what you want to do, you can reload the original factory
template with the &F command.
To use the &F command:
TYPE:
PRESS: Enter
The factory configuration is loaded into the Active User Profile
and the modem is set up for Data Mode.
These are some of the features and functions available to you
when the factory configuration is loaded:

V.32bis operation with a dial line data rate of 14,400 bps.
G
V.42 and V.42bis error control and data compression.
G
MNP 5 data compression.
G
RTS/CTS flow control.
G
CD and DTR set for standard RS232 operation.
G
DSR forced on.
G
"Word" response codes, response codes enabled.
G
V.32bis Automoding which allows the modem to connect
with non-V.32bis modems.
G
Busy and Dial tone detection enabled.
If you want to save this to a storage area, you can add the &W
command after the &F command listed above.
AT&W n
where n is 0 for User Profile 0 and 1 for User
Profile 1.
The changes are saved and the modem responds
with an OK.
