Checking the hook adjustment loop lift /synchronization (a180/185)

Attention!
The gears shoudn't have any undue play and must be
running smoothly.
Note:
As the first screw in direction of rotation must be hori-
zontal to the front of the machine, it might be necessary
to go out of mesh with the gear.

· Remove the needle plate
· Pin the stepping motor (needle position centre)
· Pin the balance piece (43) of the needle drive
(5.5mm pin) and turn the handweel until the stop
position is reached.
· Pin the base shaft (44) 3mm pin, feed dog must be in

its lowest position.
· In this position the hook must now be flush with the
left hand edge of the needle.
Correction :
· Loosen the second screw in direction of rotation of the
bevel gear (45).
· Pin the stepping motor/balance piece/base shaft.
· Loosen the first screw in direction of rotation and
rotate the bevel gear until the correct position of the
hook is achieved.
