Multipoint Digital Test Procedures
Follow the procedure in Table 3-4 to perform a Digital
Test (Multipoint).
Your Action
1. Call tributary DSU location, agree
on test, duration of test, and
request DL test switch be pressed.
2. Press the TP test switch and run
the test for the desired test interval.
3. Press the TP test switch.
4. Call remote DSU location and
request DL test switch be pressed.

During this test, the TXD, LSD and RXD DTE interface indicators monitor internal versions of the
corresponding interface lead.

Multipoint Digital Test Results
If the FAIL indicator remained Off for the entire test
interval, the Digital Test has passed and no problems have
been detected in either the DSUs or the network. If the
FAIL indicator has flashed sporadically, you may have
experienced network-related data errors. If the FAIL
indicator has flashed continuously, there is a hard failure
in either a DSU or in the network.

Control DSU Front Panel Response
TP and TEST indicators light. TXD and RXD indicators flash.
Count number of FAIL flashes during the test interval.
TP and TEST indicators now go Off. TXD and RXD indicators
indicate interface lead status.
