• D1
A digital video standard, used for storing uncompressed digitized component
video, digital audio, and a time code. D1 video resolution is 720 x 480 for the
NTSC format, and 720 x 576 for the PAL format.
• DCF
Digitizer Configuration Format. A DCF defines the input signal data format and
among other things, how to accept or generate video timing signals such as
horizontal sync, vertical sync, and pixel clock.
• Deinterlacing
This is the process of converting interlaced video (like that used for a CRT) into
a non-interlaced form (such as digital video).
• Dry mode
An alarm mode in which alarm input signals need to be driven high to create an
alarm event.

• Field
One of the two halves that make up an image. One half consists of the image's
odd lines (known as the odd field); the other half consists of the image's even lines
(known as the even field).
• Frame
A single image grabbed from a video camera.
• G.711
An ITU-T standard for audio compression. There are two main compression
