A. Recording a Backlit Subject
^J
Before shooting a backlit subject, a scene with a
high percentage of sky, or a subject surrounded by
snow, it is necessary to compensate exposure so
the subject doesn't turn out too dark. To shoot in
such conditions, first set the backlight compensa¬
tion switch to ON; "BLC" will appear in the viewfin¬
der. When you have finished recording the scene,
return the switch to OFF.
Important:
To protect the camera tube from ex¬
cessive light entry, never point the camera directly
at the sun or other bright light source.
