C. Using the Standby/Operate Switch
To conserve power consumption during pauses in
recording (such as when you are preparing to
shoot a scene), set the stand by/ope rate switch to
STD-BY. This extends the recording time possible
when using a battery pack.
1
After recording, press the camera start/stop
button again; this will place the recorder in the
record pause mode.
2 Set the standby/operate switch to STD-BY.
3 To resume recording, set the standby/operate
switch to NORM (or to UP).
For longer pauses (more than about 10 min¬
utes), it is recommended to set the recorder's
VTR switch to OFF.
An optionally available microphone, such as the
Canon Super-directional Microphone DM-100,
can be connected to the camera's external mi¬
crophone jack. With the microphone connected,
sound from the camera's built-in microphone is
not recorded.
