POST error messages

The following table provides an abbreviated list of the error messages that might
appear during POST.
Note: See the Hardware Maintenance Manual and Troubleshooting Guide on the

Suggested action
1. Run the Configuration/Setup Utility program; then, exit, saving
the configuration settings.
2. Verify that your optional devices are turned on and installed
correctly.
Verify that CPU 2 is the same type and speed as CPU 1.
Verify that your memory is fully seated and installed properly.
Verify that your memory is correct for your server and that it is
installed properly.
Ensure that the keyboard cable is connected and nothing is
resting on the keyboard keys.
Start the Configuration/Setup program and verify that the
parallel-port setting is correct.
Start the Configuration/Setup program and ensure that the IRQ
and I/O port assignments needed by the serial port are available.
Verify that the operator information panel cable is connected to
J24 on the system board.
Verify that the on/off/reset panel cable is connected to J47 on the
system board.
Verify that the Light Path Diagnostics panel cable is connected to
J23 on the system board.
Verify that the RSA cable is connected to J27 on the system
board.
Verify that processor x is installed correctly. If the problem
remains, replace processor x.
Start the Configuration/Setup program and ensure that the
resources needed by the PCI adapter are available.
Download and install the latest system BIOS level.
Install your operating system.
