Descriptions of the POST beep codes
1-1-4
BIOS ROM checksum in-progress or failure.
Action:
1. Move the BIOS code page jumper (J12) to pins 2 and 3 to boot from the backup BIOS code
page.
2. Restart the blade server and flash the BIOS code.
3. Move the BIOS code page jumper back to pins 1 and 2 and restart the blade server.
If the problem remains, call for service.
All other beep
1. Verify that the system memory modules are installed correctly.

2. Turn off the blade server; then, restart the blade server. If the problem remains, call for
service.

Indicates successful completion of POST.
Indicates that a memory error has occurred. Ensure that all DIMMs are
correctly installed.
Indicates that a video error has occurred and the BIOS code cannot
initialize the video screen to display any additional information.

Suggested action
Replace the battery yourself or call for service.
Verify that your optional devices are turned on and
installed correctly.
Set the correct date and time.
Verify that your memory is correct for your blade server
and that it is installed properly.
Ensure that the keyboard cable is connected and nothing
is resting on the keyboard keys.
Start the Configuration/Setup program and verify that the
parallel-port setting is correct.
Verify that the serial cable is connected correctly.
Start the Configuration/Setup program and ensure that the
IRQ and I/O port assignments needed by the serial port
are available.
Start the Configuration/Setup program and verify that the
interrupt resource settings are correct.
