Navigate to Menu > Layer 2 > Ring Redundancy > Link Check tab to enable the Link Check function
on the optical ring ports of HRP or MRP ring on the two neighboring fiber optic switches, which are
connected. This can be done to monitor the transmission quality of optical sections within HRP/ MRP ring,
identify disturbed connections and under certain conditions turn them off, so the redundancy manager can
close the ring and restore communication.
NOTE: Enabling Link Check on only one of the two connection partners can lead to incorrect behavior.
NOTE: If Link Check is enabled on all the fiber optic switches of the ring at the same time, and several
connections within the ring have problems, this leads to fragmentation of the ring.
1. During commissioning, enable Link Check for one connection section after the other by enabling
Link Check for the two connection partners connected to a line.
2. To ensure an error-free connection, wait one minute before enabling the Link Check for the next
connection.

7.4.1
System Save & Load HTTP
The Web Management Tool (WBM) allows you to store configuration information in an external file on
your client PC or to load such data from an external file from the PC to the Scalance fiber switch. You can
also load new firmware from a file located on your client PC. You can make the entries required for this
on Menu > System > Load & Save in the HTTP tab.
The table describes the possible entries in the System Load & Save via the HTTP feature.
