MIGRATION FROM X204-2 and X204-2LD
6.1
Fiber Connector Change
NOTE: For migrations of XC204 Scalance switches, either ST to LC adapters or replacement of the ST
connectors with LC connection will be required.
The Scalance X204-2 and X204-2LD required ST fiber connectors. However, the XC206-2SFP-MM/-SM
uses LC connectors. Therefore, if Scalance X204-2 and/or X204-2LD switches are being replaced,
conversion or replacement of the connectors is required.
The following options are supported:
1. Use of a commercially available ST to LC adapter.
2. Removing the ST connectors from the fiber and replacing them with LC connectors (requires
specialized fiber optic equipment).
3. Replacement of the fiber with pre-made segments containing LC connectors.
6.2
Migration of Specific Enclosure / Panel Types
6.2.1
Desigo Fire Safety Compact / Cerberus PRO Compact Enclosure
For migration to the XC206-2SFP-MM/-SM, a new Network Enclosure, Model NTWRK-ENCL, Document
ID A6V12412370, is required.
6.2.2
GCNET (VNT) Enclosure
Direct replacement of the X204-2 with the XC206-2SFP-MM and of the X204-2LD with the XC206-2SFP-
SM is possible.
6.2.3
Network Enclosure
If the X204-2 or X204-2LD is installed in a Desigo Fire Safety Modular/Cerberus PRO Modular VNT
Enclosure, it may be directly replaced with the XC206-2SPF-MM or XC206-2SPF-SM.
Otherwise, the XC206-2SPF-MM or XC206-2SPF-SM must be installed in the Network Enclosure,
