you can easily locate those positions later as long as the cassette is left in the camcoi de¬

Be sure that the date and time are set.
T Attach a power source and slide the CAM/
OFF/VIDEO switch to VIDEO.
Press the DATE button (the DISPLAY button on
' the remote control) to display "SEARCH" in the
viewfinder or on the LCD monitor.
^ Press the REW button to search for the start
position from which you last made a recording
or the FF button to recording end position. " 4*1
SEARCH" will appear while the start position is
being searched for; "SEARCH ►► ", while the
end position is being searched for.
A When the required position is located, the cam-
' corder enters the stop mode and "SEARCH"
disappears from the viewfinder or LCD moni¬
tor.
Note: if you have ejected the cassette, this
function will not operate with that cassette.
(When a cassette is inserted and the recording
is started, the position is identified as the record¬
ing start position on that day.)
Note: if the clock battery is not inserted, the
date search function does not operate when
the battery providing the power to the cam¬
corder is removed.
Note: When the cassette was recorded by
another camcorder, the date search function
does not operate.
Note:
The date search function is released
when you press the STOP button during date
search mode.
Note: If the recorded time is iess than 30 sec¬
onds, the date search function may not oper¬
ate normally.
Photo Search (for VM-P9*

The photo search function allows you to search forward or backward for stills recorded on tape.
Note: Be sure that the date and time are set.
'I Attach a power source and slide the CAM/
OFF/ VIDEO switch to VIDEO.
!J Make sure that the sub power switch is in the
*" PHOTO position, and that "PHOTO.S" appears
in the viewfinder or on the LCD monitor.
C| Press the REW button to search for the preced¬
ing still, or the FF button, for the following still.
"PHOTO.S 44 " will appear while the preceding
still is being searched for : "PHOTO.S ►►",
while the next still is being searched for.
When the required still is located, the camcorder
enters the stop mode and "PHOTO.S" disap¬
pears from the viewfinder or LCD monitor.
