Precautions against residual risks

Prevention of residual mechanical risks
• Regularly carry out all the maintenance operations foreseen in this manual.
• Wear protective equipment suited to the work in hand (→ see table 4).
• Fans, motors and belt drives might be running. Before accessing them, switch off the machine, wait for them to stop and disconnect
the power to the machine.
• When opening a door or removing a panel, make sure to have a grip suitable for its weight and capable of sustaining the presence
of any wind.
• The fins on heat exchangers and the edges of metal components and panels can cause cuts.
• Do not remove the guards from mobile components while the unit is operating. Make sure that mobile component guards are fitted
correctly before restarting the unit.
• The surfaces of the machine and pipes can get very hot or cold and cause the risk of scalding.
• Never exceed the maximum pressure limit (PS) of the water circuit of the unit, which is indicated on the rating plate of the same.
• Before removing parts on the pressurised water circuits, close the section of the piping concerned and drain the fluid gradually to
stabilise the pressure at the atmospheric level.
• Always wear the appropriate personal protective equipment when in the vicinity of a refrigerant circuit or when checking for leaks,
for example:
- safety goggles;
- gloves;
- overalls;
- respirator (if necessary).
Prevention of residual electrical risks
• The unit contains live parts that could cause serious injury or death. Only individuals trained in electrical hazards must work on
electric and electronic components such as, for example, electrical panel, motors and wiring. During such activities, the use of
appropriate personal protective equipment is also mandatory, including, for example:
- dielectric gloves;
- dielectric shoes;
- dielectric visor;
- dielectric tools.
• Before opening the electrical panel, or accessing any other electric and electronic components, disconnect the unit from the mains
by means of the external main switch of the machine. As some components inside the electrical panel remain live even after being
isolated from the mains, make sure to wait:
-
three minutes in the case of electric capacitors.
-
fifteen minutes in the case of frequency converters (inverters).
In the electrical panel are some cables and terminals, indicated in orange, that remain powered even with the power disconnector open
(circuits excluded). If it is not known if capacitors or converters are installed, wait fifteen minutes as a precaution.
• Check that the unit has been grounded correctly before starting it.
• Only use power cables sized for the maximum F.L.A. current (field 19).
Installation, use and maintenance manual - Translation of the original instructions
The products are designed paying particular attention to ensuring safety during installation, use and
maintenance. However, some residual risks remain, which require precautions to be taken, as indicated
below. Any activities other than those specified in this manual (such as repairs) require a specific risk
assessment and must be carried out by trained personnel capable of recognising and preventing
hazards.
