It is critical for safe installation of the awning
that each adapter plate is properly secured

1. The first step in this installation is to determine
where the awning will be mounted. The height of
the awning must first be determined. The mount-
ing surface must be at least 6" wide and a de-
sired head clearance height from the bottom of
the mounting surface to the patio surface. Refer
to figure 3.

2. After the awning height has been determined,
mark a horizontal line along the bottom edge of
mounting surface using a string level or laser lev-
el. This line will serve as an alignment mark for
the bottom edge of the adapter plates.
Next, the location of the awning on the mount-
ing surface must be determined. This requires
understanding the location of the wall's studs
relative to the location of the awning's mounting
brackets.
Bracket Alignment
Decals
FIG. 4A
It is critical for proper operation of the aw-
ning that the mounting brackets be located
directly behind the awning shoulders. Fail-
ure to do so can result in personal injury
and/or damage to property.
3. Located on the underside of the cassette are wall
bracket alignment decals. (FIG. 4A) These de-
cals represent where the awning shoulders are
located inside the cassette. The wall brackets
must be mounted directly behind the shoulders.
(FIG. 4B) Measure the distance from the end of
the awning to the first alignment decal. Then
measure the distance from the first decal to the
subsequent decals.
