Use this key if the machine is in a field programmed for
numeric shift and you want to enter alpha characters. To use:
1. Hold down ALPHA SH I FT.
2. Key in the alpha characters you want to enter.

In all modes except Verify, CHAR ADV advances the cursor
one position without changing the character stored in that
position.
Pressing CHAR ADV in Verify mode causes an error.
