Server Chassis Features
The following is a general outline of the main features of the SC216BE1C-R920LPB
server chassis.
System Power
The SC216BE1C-R920LPB features a redundant, hot-plug (two separate power
modules) 920W high-efficiency power supply with I
ture allows you to replace a failed power supply without shutting down the system.
Hard Drives
The SC216BE1C-R920LPB chassis was designed to support 24 dual-channel
SATA hard drives, which are hot-swappable units. In addition, an optional kit is
available to add two 2.5" hard drive carriers to the rear of the chassis for mirrored
OS (optional kit p/n MCP-220-82609-0N).
Note: The operating system you use must have RAID support to enable the hot-
swap capability of the SATA drives.
Front Control Panel
The control panel on the SuperServer 2027R-E1CR24L provides you with system
monitoring and control. LEDs indicate system power, HDD activity, network activ-
ity, system overheat/fan fail and power supply failure. A main power button and a
system reset button are also included.
Cooling System
The SC216BE1C-R920LPB chassis includes three 8-cm hot-plug system fans lo-
cated in the middle section of the chassis. An air shroud channels the airflow from
the system fans to efficiently cool the processors and memory. Each power supply
module also includes a cooling fan.
