8. Care and maintenance

WARNING!
Before commencing cleaning and maintenance proce-
dures, make sure the garden shredder is switched off and
disconnected from the mains supply. Always wear sturdy
leather gloves when cleaning the cutter blades.
1. To ensure the best performance from the garden shred-
der, it must be kept clean.
2. Always clean the garden shredder immediately after
use.
3. Do not allow material to become dry and hard on any
of the garden shredder surfaces. This will directly af-
fect the shredding performance.
4. Make sure that the feeder chute and the ejection chute
are kept clean and clear of all waste material.
5. Make sure that all nuts, bolts and screws are tight and
secure.
6. Always have any damaged, or worn parts repaired, or
replaced by qualified personnel.
7. Do not use any cleaning or solvent materials as these
could cause irreparable damage to your machine.
Chemicals could destroy the artificial materials.
8. The strength of the fastening screws of the frame
should be checked from time to time.
9. Oil the blade after every fourth or fifth use.
CAUTION
1. Do not over tighten the plate adjustment screw and cut
excessive aluminium off of the plate, as this will reduce
the life of your shredder.
2. Have your garden shredder inspected and maintained
by qualified service personnel. Do not attempt to repair
the machine unless you are qualified to do so.

9. Storage

In order to protect the shredder from corrosion during ex-
tended storage, apply some environmentally friendly oil
to the blade.
Make sure that the garden shredder has been thoroughly
cleaned before storing it in a clean, dry place out of the
reach of children.

10. Repair Service

Attention! Electrical repairs may only be carried
out by a skilled electrician or a customer service
workshop!
If you send the machine to us for repair, please describe
the fault.

11. Waste disposal and environmental protection

Dispose of the machine properly after it is worn out. Dis-
connect the mains cable in order to prevent misuse. Do
not dispose of the machine with the household waste. In
the interest of environmental protection, take it to a col-
lection point for electric machines. Your responsible local
authority can provide you with addresses and operating
times. Also take the packaging materials and worn out
accessories to the appropriate collection points.
GB | Operating Instructions
In accordance with European Directive 2012/19/EC on
waste electrical and electronic equipment and its imple-
mentation in national law, waste electric tools must be col-
lected separately for environmentally-compatible re-use.
Recycling alternative to the return invitation:
Instead of returning the electric equipment, the owner is
alternatively obligated to take part in the proper recycling
in the case of relinquishment of ownership. The waste
equipment can also be taken to a collection facility which
disposes of it in the sense of the national recycling man-
agement and waste acts. This does not pertain to the ac-
cessory parts and auxiliary equipment without electrical
components accompanying the waste equipment.
