can change the direction of rotation. The material is trans-
ported back (5 sec.). To prevent damage to the engine,
the circuit breaker (2) the power supply is automatically
turned off.
If the cutting blade still jammed after 5 seconds, so that
the motor can no longer run, press the rotational direc-
tion switch REVERSE (4). The cutting blade rotates in
the reverse direction and release the material so that you
can remove it. Press the green START button (3) to turn
on the chopper.
6.3 Disassembling
For certain purposes, e.g. storage after use, etc, you can
disassemble the shredder in the reverse order as de-
scribed under "Assembling".

6.4 Operating Instructions

Feeding
Feed the material to be chopped into the right side of the
feeding tunnel. The material is automatically pulled in by
the chopping knife.
Caution! Longer material standing out from the
machine could lash out when being pulled in by
the chopping knife! Keep a safety distance!
Warning! Always use the pusher (Fig.11) if you
try to push the material into the feeding tunnel.
Do not use your hands directly! Keep the push-
er well after use.
• Only insert as much material as will not block up the
feeding tunnel.
• Chop garden waste that has been stored for some
days and is wilted and damp alternately with branch-
es. This will prevent the chopping knife from getting
blocked up.
• Do not fill into the shredder any soft material such as
kitchen waste instead of compositing it.
• Widely branched material with leaves must be com-
pletely chopped before any new material is fed in.
• Take care that the chopped material can freely fall from
the discharge chute – danger of backing up!
• The ventilation slots must not be covered by the waste
bag or the chopped material.
6.5 Adjusting the cutting gear (Fig. 8)
The anvil blade (B) should be adjusted to have a distance
of 0 to 0,50 mm from the cutting blade (A) (fig. 8). This
distance should be kept to guarantee effective operation
of the mac.
Note: Soft materials or wet twigs can get torn instead of
cut properly due to wrong adjustment. Also a blunt an-
vil blade from frequent use produces the same problem.
On the right hand side of the shredder you will find the
blade adjustment knob (6). To adjust the distance turn the
screw to the right.
1. For lighter material, you can cut through the material
completely turn the knob clockwise half a turn.
2. If you are shredding heavy materials (such as harder
or large materials) they may need to be put through
the shredder twice, to crush the material before cutting
it completely. To loosen the adjusting screw, turn the

WARNING!
Do not put your hands up inside the shredder's discharge
chute to clear away shredded material while the shredder
is switched on or connected to the mains supply.
NOTE
In normal use, do not switch off the garden shredder un-
til all of the shredded material has cleared the cutter as-
sembly. If the garden shredder is switched off too quickly,
remaining pieces of material may clog the blade assembly
and stall the motor when the shredder is switched back on.

the pusher to push or loosen branches inside.
Caution! Change the direction of rotation to the
desired position after the shredder has come to
a complete standstill.
