To flip the latch on the Assa Abloy 8800 Series, you need to rehand the lock. Follow these steps:
1. Determine the door hand and bevel (refer to Figure 2 in the manual).
2. Check the spindle cam position for correct handing (refer to Figure 3).
3. If incorrect, remove the retaining pad and spindle cam (Figure 4).
4. Reposition the spindle cam in the correct direction based on door hand.
5. For thumbturn indicators, ensure the thumbturn is at the 12 o'clock position (Figure 5).
This process changes the handing of the lock, effectively flipping the latch.
