When the power is turned on, or "General MIDI Sysiem On" is received, Rx.HIRPN will be set OFF, and NRPH will not
be received.
When "GS reset" or Rx. NRPN = GN is received, NRPW con be received.
The value set by HRPN will net be reset even if Program change or Reset aff controller is received.
** NRPN **
The NRPH (Non Registered Parameter number) message allows nn extended range of contro! changes to be used, let-
fing you use control messages which are not purt of the MIDI Specification and may be unique to an individual
'model. To use these messages, you must first use NRPN MSB and WRPN LSB message to specify the parameter to be
controlled, ond then use Data Entry messages tc specify the value of the specified parameter. Once on NRPH pora-
meter has been specified, alf Dota Entry messages received on that channel will modify the value of that parameter.
To prevent accidents, it is recommended that you set RPN full (RN Number = 7FH/7FH) when you have finished
setting the value of the desired parameter,
'Gn This module, the following NRPN can be received.

Parometers marked "relative change" change relative fo the preset value (40H). Even among different GS devices,
"relative change" perometers may sometimes differ in the way the sound changes or in the range of change.
Parameters marked "absolute change" will be set to the absolute value of the parameter, regardless of the preset
value,

MIDI IMPLEMENTATION
** RPN?
RPH (registered parameter number) is « parameter number of tone color or musical expression defined in MIDI spec-
ification,
'With tho. Sound Expansion. Series .0s the receiver RPNAO {pitch bend sensiifvity);-RPRAT {tine tuning) and-RPNEZ
(coarse tuning) are effective. when sending on RPH to the Sound Expansion Series first specify the MSB and LSB of
'the RPN fo be used to contral a parameter and then set the value in the data entry field.
