Importing a Profile into a
CHAPTER 5
New Appliance
If you have already set up and configured at least one WatchGuard
Firebox Vclass appliance, you can short-cut the installation and
configuration process for new, factory default appliances by importing a
profile from an existing appliance during the discovery process. Once
you have done this, you can then connect to the new appliance with the
Vcontroller, change certain key settings, import any needed certificates,
and have a ready-to-use appliance in short order.

Requirements

To start this process, you must first export the XML profile from an
existing appliance, as detailed in the next section.
Installation Guide
An appliance profile, which is an XML-format file exported from an
existing, operational Firebox Vclass appliance.
The name and directory location of this profile file.
The temporary IP address that will be assigned to interface 0 of a new,
unconfigured appliance, prior to the profile importation.
The actual IP address for interface 0 of the new appliance.
Any x.509 certificates, for use in auto-key VPN connections.
