114 ADJUSTMENT
Adjust the damping character-
istic, using the tool from the
on-board toolkit to turn ad-
justing screw 1.
To increase damping: Use the
tool from the on-board toolkit
to turn adjusting screw 1 in
direction A.
To reduce damping: Use the
tool from the on-board toolkit
to turn adjusting screw 1 in
direction B.
Basic setting of rear-
suspension damping
characteristic
Turn the adjusting screw
clockwise as far as it will go,
then back it off 6 full turns
(One-up riding)
Turn the adjusting screw
clockwise as far as it will go,
then back it off 4 turn (One-
up with luggage)

then back it off 4 turn (Two-
up riding)
Turn the adjusting screw
clockwise as far as it will go,
then back it off 2 turn (Two-

ATTENTION
Unintentional operation of
the gearshift lever
Damage to the gearbox
Check that the gearshift
lever is in the correct pos-
ition.
Make sure that the gearshift
lever is under no load ex-
cept when gearshifting is in
progress.
