8. PREPARING FOR OPERATIONS

IMPORTANT
Failure to follow proper fuel mix instructions may
cause damage to the engine.
1.When preparing fuel mixture, mix only the amount
needed for the job you intend to do. Do not use fuel
that has been stored longer than two months. Fuel
mixture stored long-er than this will cause hard
starting and poor performance. If fuel mix has been
stored longer than this time, it should be removed
and filled with a fresh mixture.
WARNING
1.Never fill the fuel tank to the brim. (Under 3/4 of
the tank)
2.Never add fuel to the tank in a closed
non-ventilated area.
3.Do not add fuel to this unit close to an open
fire or sparks.
4.Be sure to wipe spilled fuel before attempting
to start the engine
5.Do not attempt to refuel a hot engine.
CHECK POINTS BEFORE OPERATION
1.Check for loose bolts, nuts and fittings.
2.Check the air filter for dirt. Clean before operation.
3.Check to be sure that protector is securely in place.
4.Check to be sure that fuel is not leak.
5.Check to be sure the line is fixed and ready to
operate.

8.1 STARTING ENGINE

CAUTION
Do not pull the starter cord all the way out and do not
let go of the starter handle when the cord is
extended, this can damage the starter mechanism.
Before starting the engine, inspect the entire unit
for loose fittings or fuel leaks, and verify that the
cutting attachment is properly installed and securely
fastened.
WARNING
The cutting head will start rotating upon the engine
starting.
Place the unit on a flat, firm place. Keep the cutting
head clear of any obstructions.

1. Check that there is fuel in the tank and that the
fuel cap is screwed on tightly.

2. Fill fuel into the fuel tank and tighten the cap
securely.
