- Page 9 It can be configured in many multiplexer switching formats (see schematic overleaf), for example 56-channel 1-pole, 28-channel 2-pole, etc. The 40-655A can be either factory configured or later re-configured by the user to form a different multiplexer function. The 40-655A can be operated as a conventional multiplexer with break-before-make action when a new channel is selected.

Page 16: Guidance On Using The Module
GUIDANCE ON USING THE MODULE The 40-655A multiplexer module is configured to a particular configuration with hard wired links LK1 to LK14 which connect the common signals from each bank to the “Com H”, “Com L” and “1W Loref” terminals. All the links are factory fitted but can be removed if a particular bank is not required. -

Modular products require installation in a suitable PXI/LXI chassis. The module is designed for indoor use only. PREOPERATION CHECKS (UNPACKING) 1. Check the module for transport damage and report any damage immediately to Pickering Interfaces. Do not attempt to install the product if any damage is evident. -

For a system comprising more than one chassis, turn ON the last chassis in the system followed by the penultimate, etc, and finally turn ON the external controller or chassis containing the system controller. 9. For Pickering Interfaces modular LXI installation there is no requirement to use any particular power up sequence. -

MODULE ARCHITECTURE In its default configuration, the 40-655A has all seven banks connected together to form a single bank multiplexer with 28-channels of 2-pole switching. Connections are made by operating a channel relay to make a connection between the common terminal and the corresponding channel terminal. When a relay is operated, both poles of the corresponding channel are activated simultaneously. -

Once the drivers are installed the manual “Sys40Prg.pdf” and driver help files which fully describes these functions can be found in the Pickering folder(s) or the Pickering entries on your Start Menu. For PXI modules which are supported in one of Pickering Interfaces’ Modular LXI Chassis (such as the 60-102B and 60-103B) no module software update is required.
