Removing the Heatsink

Warning: We do not recommend that the CPU or heatsink be removed. However, if you
do need to remove the heatsink, follow the instructions below to remove the heatsink
and prevent damage done to the CPU or other components.
1. Unplug the power cord from the power supply and the power connector from the cooler
and fan header.
2. Loosen the screws as shown below.
3. Gently wiggle the heatsink to loosen it. Do not use excessive force when wiggling the
heatsink.
4. Once the heatsink is loosened, remove it from the motherboard.
