For Datalink users: control
head parameters are found
on the Configuration tab of the
Control Head interface.
PARAMETER NAME
DESCRIPTION
Station Protection
When this parameter is enabled a specific sequence of button presses on the control
head is required in order to take control of the shift and throttle. Refer to the User
Manual for additional information on this feature.
One Lever Sync
Controls the throttle behavior when the Power Train Sync (PTS) mode is engaged.
Mode (U)
When set to RPM the software will use engine RPM feedback to match engine speeds.
When set to the Throttle the control system will simply match the throttle command.
Two Lever Sync
When this parameter is enabled the control system will synchronize engine speeds when
Enabled (U)
both levers are in close to the same position. This feature requires engine RPM feedback.
Two Lever Sync
The maximum throttle position difference for which Two Lever Sync will function.
Window (U)
Max Shift RPM
The maximum engine RPM at which a gear shift will be attempted. It is designed to
delay gear shifts until the engine reaches a safe shifting speed.
Shift Proportional
When there is no engine RPM source, this is the shift delay added by the control system
Delay Max
when the control lever has been at 100% throttle for some time and is rapidly moved to
another gear. In operation the shift delay is reduced in proportion to the amount of throttle
commanded. We recommend you leave this parameter at the default of 5 seconds, but
if the shifting is sluggish it can be reduced in small increments.
Shift Proportional
A multiplier applied to the Shift Proportional Delay Max time to control the shift delay.
Delay Gain
FWD Throttle Curve
There are two throttle curves that control the response characteristics when the
(U)
control lever is at or near idle and in forward gear. Curve 1 is the default curve and is
suitable for most applications. Curve 2 requires more lever travel before throttle
increases.
REV Throttle Curve
There are two throttle curves that control the response characteristics when the control
(U)
lever is at or near idle and in reverse gear. Curve 1 is the default curve and is suitable
for most applications. Curve 2 requires more lever travel before throttle increases.
FWD Trolling Max
The maximum percentage of wide open throttle when trolling mode is engaged in
Throttle (U)
forward gear. A setting of 50% means that when the throttle lever is fully forward the
throttle is limited to 50% of maximum. This provides greater throttle sensitivity when
moving at slow speeds.
REV Trolling Max
The maximum percentage of wide open throttle when trolling mode is engaged in
Throttle (U)
reverse gear.
Shift Fixed Delay
This is a Yanmar-specific parameter that delays shifting into the opposite gear when
engine RPM feedback is not available. It will hold the transmission in neutral for the
specified in time before shifting.

4.2 Control Head Setup

The i7X00 EST system provides a number of control head parameters,
listed in table 4-2. User parameters are marked with a (U) but they are
not available to the user unless enabled as shown in section 5.7.1.
Control head parameters are adjusted from the CANtrak display at
Dealer Menu > Settings > Shift and Throttle.
