Mount a serrated washer (see Figure 11: Power supply earth connection) to ensure that the contact remains
good.
In the case of the panel mounted version, secure the P3UP to a metal panel on the machine that is
connected to the centre of mass of the machine (which is, in turn, connected to earth), using the pins present
on the rear of the P3UP front panel. Check that there is a good ohmic connection between the machine
metal panel and the P3UP panel.

6.6 Switching the unit on

Press the switch located on the rear of the unit. When it is switched on the P3UP performs a general
internal test, during which all the LEDs on the panel and the characters on the alphanumeric display are
switched on in sequence.

Once the control procedure is complete, if any messages that are not included in the alarms list
(see section 0) appear on the display, contact Marposs service personnel.

When the device is switched on, if it is equipped with a first generation damping memory
("MEMORY CONTROL") it must be deactivated, otherwise the self test may fail.
