USING THE VIDEO SIGNAL SELECTOR
This function can be used to allow you to listen to the playback sound
while changing the video image only, thus allowing you to play back
and record video images different from the playback sound source. For
example, VCR 1 can record video disc picture mixed with CD sound.

1. Select the component you want to listen to with the INPUT
SELECTOR buttons.
¢ For exampie, press CD.
2. Select the video component you want to watch with the V-SIGNAL
SELECTOR button.

USING THE AUTO SOURCE CONTROL
Video Recording
1. Confirm that the REC SELECTOR is OFF.
e If the REC SELECTOR indicator is lit, press the REC SELECTOR
button to switch to the OFF mode.
. Load VCR 1 or VCR 2 with a tape for video recording.
© if you select VCR 1 with the V-SIGNAL SELECTOR, record on
VCR 2, and if you select VCR 2, record on VCR 1. !f you select
VCR 3, LD, TV, or VIDEO, you can record on either VCR 1 or
VCR 2.
. Start recording on the VCR loaded with the tape for recording.
© For VCR, select a line input {external input).
. Start playback of the component selected with the V-SIGNAL
SELECTOR
and
the
component
selected
with
the
INPUT
SELECTOR buttons.
CAUTION:
lf you
must
operate
the V-SIGNAL
SELECTOR
button
during
recording, do so after setting the recording VCR to the pause mode.
\f the button is operated when the tape is traveling during recording,
the recorded image and sound may be disrupted at the point at which
the button is operated.
If you experience no video or wrong video, push the appropriate
INPUT SELECTOR button for the function being used.
You can memorize receiver settings, and recall at the touch of a button.
Two memory buttons are available.
If you connect a component bearing the Pioneer
Sal mark, such as
aCD player, to the CONTROL OUT jack on the rear panel, signals can
also be transmitted to automatically switch on power and start play of
that component.
NOTE:
With sorne components, even if they bear the
Rl mark, power cannot
be switched on and off by remote control.
{Operating Memory]
1. Select the settings on the receiver you want to memorize.
2. Press the MEMORY button.
© After the 'AUTO SOURCE CONTROL" indication has scrolled in
the display, "MEMORY"
appears and flashes.
3. Press the AUTO SOURCE CONTROL button (1 or 2) you want to
use for memorizing.

Example:
Using the AUTO SOURCE CONTROL 1 button to memorize settings
to start play on a CD player connected to the receiver's CONTROL OUT
jack.

. Press the MEMORY button.
Set the receiver INPUT SELECTOR to CD.
Adjust DIRECT, tone, surround, and other parameters to the
settings you want to memorize.
Set the volume to the level you want to memorize.
