@ Example 2: Programming tracks from 2 or more CDs in the order of
disc 1 (track 3), disc 1 {track 6), and disc 3 (track 12).

@ Set to the CD mode.
Press the @ button.
Press the PROGRAM button to set to the programming mode.
@ Designate the required CD using the CD CONTROL buttons (No. 1 to
No. . 3).
© Designate the required track using the track number buttons (No. 1 to
No. 10, and +10).
@ Repeat steps @ and @ to designate the other tracks.
@ Press the PROGRAM button to confirm program details.
© Repeat from step @ to readjust the program.
© Repeat from step @ to add to the program.
© Press the CD »/It button when programming is completed.

@ When performing CD synchro recording or timer playback in the order
of "Programmed play," do not press the CD »/a8 button.
To confirm the details of a program...
Press the PROGRAM button: the tracks making up the program will be
displayed in programmed order.
To clear the programmed tracks ...
Press the i button before playing a CD. During programmed play, press
this button twice.
Notes:
© Programming is possible even when a CD tray is open. (The tracks on
Programmed play starts. the CD can be confirmed as the labels are visible.)
'@ Programmed tracks are not cleared even if the CD tray is open.
(| HANDLING CASSETTE TAPES

1. Loose tape may cause trouble. Using a pencil or like object, gently 1. Press the EJECT (4) button to open the cassette holder.

2. To prevent recordings from being erased accidentally, remove the
tab(s) with a screwdriver, etc. Reseal the slots with adhesive tapa to
erase and re-record after the tabs have been removed.
3. C-120 cassettes are not recommended because they are prone to
maifunction.
3. Close the cassette holder by pressing it gently. Listen for the click
indicating that the holder is securely shut.

Note:
If the power is switched off while tape is running, it may be impossible to
remove the cassette. If this happens, switch the power on again before
attempting to remove the cassette.
Auto tape select mechanism
This unit has an Auto Tape Select mechanism which distinguishes between
different types of tape using detection holes in the cassette. After the
type of tape has been detected, bias and equalization suitable for the
tape are set.

'@ When AC power is used.
{When battery power is used, switch on the /I button first, then perform
operation.)
@ Load a cassette tape with side A facing up.
@ Press to start playback. (The power is switched on and the TAPE
mode is engaged to start tape playback.)
Displays the 4-digit tape counter.
@ Select the reverse mode (7/27).
O Adjust.
© After loading a cassette tape, simply press the TAPE <1(> button. The
power is switched on and the tape starts playback. (To select the
playback direction, press the TAPE <1C> button. The change in direction
can be checked in the tape direction indicator («4 or B).)
@ To reset the counter to "0000," press the COUNTER RESET button on
the remote contro! unit.
@ When the tape plays back with the reverse mode set to = (single side
play) or <*> (both side play) mode, the tape stops automatically at the
end of tape after playing one or both sides. When the reverse mode is
set to the (<) {continuous play) mode, the tape continuously plays one
'side after the other until you stop operation.
Notes:
© Do not press the & EJECT button until the tape mechanism has stopped
moving.
e If the cassette holder gets stuck as it is opening, press it once to close
it. Turn off the power, wait a minute, and turn it on again. Ifthe cassette
holder cannot be closed, open it by hand.
@ When no tape is loaded in the deck, its tape playback direction can not
be switched over.
How to fast-wind tapes
1. Press the TAPE <I¢> button (to set TAPE mode).
2. Press the a (REW) or 1 (FF) button.
