Cleaning the Brum
1) Open the top cover, and take out the
cartridge.
2) Put the cartridge upside down, and open
the drum shutter.
3) Clean the surface of the drum using a
flannel cloth coated with toner.
1. You must rotate the drum in the
direction it rotates for making
copies; otherwise, the leaf spring
used to apply developing biases to
the developing cylinder may cause
faulty contact.
Use a flannel cloth; do not use
paper, lint-free or otherwise:
Work quickly to protect the drum
from light.

The drum would recover to more or less
its normal condition if left alone for five
minutes in a dark place after exposure to
an intensity of 1500 lux (about 5 minutes
under general lighting).
However, you
must try to avoid any exposure at all
cost.
(The rays of the sun have intensi-
ties ranging between about 10000 and
30000 lux.)

5. Transfer Charging Roller
Cleaning the Transfer Charging Roller
Open the top cover, and take out the
cartridge.
Wipe off the dirt from the transfer charg-
ing roller lightly using lint-free paper.

Do not use water or solvent.
2..Do not touch the roller; make. sure
the roller is free of solvent or oil,
Detaching the Transfer Charging

Open the top cover, and take out the
cartridge.
Free the tabs © of the base plate, and
take out the transfer charging roller @
by pulling it up together with its bush-
ings; at this time, remove the spring as
well.
