(5) Check the Surface of the Commutator
lf the commutator surface is rough, then please use
No. 500-600 sandpaper to make it smooth.
(6) Check the Depth of Insulating Material from the
Commutator Surface.
II the depth of the insulating material from the commu-
tator segments is less than the limit, then please repair
it by filing it down.

Measure the length of the brushes and if they are under
the limit, replace them.

3-6.3 Brush Holder
Insulation Test for the Brush Holder
Check for continuity between the brush holder's positive
side and its base (negative side) with a tester. II there is
no continuity the brush holder are still good.
Continuity Exists : (Unsatisfactory insulation)
Replace the brush holder.
