Please wait a few minutes between successive measurements, other-
wise the blood flow in the arm is interrupted for too long and injuries
could occur.
The device contains small parts that could be swallowed by children.
The air hose poses a strangulation hazard. Do not leave the device
unattended with children.
Never simultaneously touch the device's live electrical parts and the
patient.
The blood pressure monitor and the cuff are suitable for a patient en-
vironment.
The device is not suitable for continuously monitoring blood pressure
levels during medical emergencies or operations. The blood flow in
the arm may be blocked causing numbness, swellings and discolour-
ation of the fingers.
The device is not suitable for use during ambulance transport.
The device may not be used simultaneously with high-frequency sur-
gical devices.
The device is not intended for commercial use.
The device is not suitable for those with an allergy to plastics, espe-
cially polyester and nylon.

2. Important technical information

The unit contains sensitive parts and must be protected from extreme
temperature fluctuations, humidity, shocks, dust and direct sunlight.
The device may only be used indoors.

Safety instructions
If the unit has been stored at temperatures below 10  °C or above
40 °C, let it stand at room temperature for at least 30 minutes before
use.
In case the pressure of the cuff surpasses 300 mmHg, the device will
automatically interrupt the inflation process and will vent the cuff. You
may also interrupt the inflation process or measurements at any time
by pressing the start/stop key or by removing the cuff.
If the cuff does not automatically deflate after use due to a defect,
immediately undo the hook and loop fastening on the cuff. A cuff
pressure above 300 mmHg or a constant pressure above 15 mmHg
over a period of more than 3 minutes can cause ecchymotic bleeding.
The patient is the intended user. The device may only be used for
measurements, for changing the battery and for care as described in
the user manual. It may not be used for any other purposes than those
described in the user manual.
To avoid inaccurate readings, please adhere to the intended operating
and storage conditions. See "Technical data" on page 52.
This device may malfunction if used in the vicinity of wireless com-
munication devices such as local wireless networking devices, mobile
phones, cordless phones and base stations, radios or other devices
with strong electromagnetic fields. The device itself may also cause
interference with other nearby electronic devices. During use, main-
tain a minimum distance of 1 m from such devices (see "Electromag-
netic compatibility" on page 55).
At the end of the measurement process, hold the device at least
20 cm away from the body while the data is transferred.
The device is not category AP/APG. It may not be used in the presence
of inflammable anaesthetics with air, oxygen or nitrogen oxide.
Always replace all batteries simultaneously during battery replace-
ment. Do not mix new and old batteries or batteries of different types.
