depth. When performing extensive repetitive dado
cutting, periodically check the work pieces to see
that the depth of cut is maintained.
Adjustable or Wobble Dado Sets
To reduce the risk of injury, do
not use adjustable or "wob-
ble" dado sets on this saw. Adjustable dado sets
can be easily set to positions that may interfere
with working components of this saw.

Special Cutting Techniques

Do not attempt to perform
cuts not covered in this manu-
al unless you are thoroughly familiar with appro-
priate procedures and fixturing.
This table saw is a highly versatile tool, capable of
performing a wide range of highly specialized cuts
that cannot be covered in this manual.

Using the CLAMPZONE™ Areas
(Fig. 89, Fig. 90)
Unplug saw from power source
before using tabletop as a sec-
ondary work surface.
Use only with one-handed bar
clamps with non-marring pads
providing 300 lbs. (1,334 N) or less of clamping
force. Use of non-recommended clamps can result
in damage to the tool.
The table top of this saw can be used as a light-
duty workpiece support for finishing applications
such as sanding, coping, and routing. To facilitate
these applications, there are four CLAMPZONE™
clamping areas. (Clamps not included.)
Preparing the Saw for Use as a Light-
Duty Work Surface
1. Make sure that the Rip Fence 9, Miter Gauge
14, and Smart Guard System 11 components
are in their storage positions. See "Rip Fence
Storage" on page 25, "Miter Gauge Storage"
on page 25, and "Smart Guard System Stor-
age" on page 26.
2. Make sure that the Rail Lock Lever 6 is in the
locked position.
3. Adjust the Riving Knife 25 to its middle posi-
tion. See "Riving Knife (Splitter)" on page 40.
4. Lower the Blade 31 as far as it will go by turn-
ing the Elevation Wheel 2 counterclockwise.
NOTE: To clamp a workpiece to the table top, lo-
cate the CLAMPZONE™ Clamping Pads 113, marked
by the CLAMPZONE™ Labels 114, and tighten the
clamp(s).
