To avoid accidents, always disconnect plug from power source before cleaning or
performing any maintenance.

Service

All repairs, electrical or me-
chanical, should be attempted
only by trained repairmen. Contact the nearest
Factory Service Center or Authorized Service Sta-
tion or other competent repair service. Use only
identical replacement parts, any other may create a
hazard.

Power Cord

If the power cord is worn or cut, or damaged in any
way, have it replaced immediately.

Care of Blades

Blades become dull even from cutting regular lum-
ber. If you find yourself forcing the saw forward
to cut instead of just guiding it through the cut,
chances are the blade is dull or coated with wood
pitch.
When cleaning gum and wood pitch from the Blade
31, unplug saw from power source and remove the
Blade 31. Remember, blades are designed to cut,
so handle carefully. Wipe the Blade 31 with Gum
and Pitch Remover or similar solvent to remove
the gum and pitch. Unless you are experienced in
sharpening blades, we recommend you do not try.

Do not use grease because it tends to attract and
hold sawdust.

Cleaning

(Fig. 92)
Certain cleaning agents and
solvents damage plastic parts.
Some of these are: gasoline, carbon tetrachloride,
chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia, and house-
hold detergents that contain ammonia. Avoiding
use of these types of cleaning agents will minimize
the possibility of damage.
Do not clean inside of motor
openings with pointed objects.
Damage to electronics or wiring can occur.
Do not allow sawdust or debris to accumulate on
the motor, power switch, and saw mechanisms.
Use a brush or a vacuum to remove dust and debris
